Before taking driving lessons with Preston Driving School

  • You will need to be at least 17 years old
  • Hold a valid UK provisional driving licence.

To be able to have your first driving lesson on your 17th birthday, you will need to apply for your provisional driving licence up to 3 months early. This will allow DVLA to process and issue your licence, without it you WILL NOT be able to have lessons.

Booking Your First Lesson --- REDUCED RATE

We understand that you may have some doubts about learning to drive and booking your first driving lesson, to help you with your decision for a limited period we can offer you your first assessment lesson at a reduced rate. At the end of this assessment lesson we will be able to give you an accurate assessment as to your driving skills and estimate how long it could take you to reach the required standard to pass your driving test.

How Many Driving Lessons Will I Need …?

The Driving Standards Agency has carried out research that shows pupils who having learnt their driving skills by following a planned driving lessons programme, are more successful at passing their driving test first time. You could also reduce the number of lessons needed by -

  • having your lessons as two-hour sessions
  • getting extra practice with parents, relatives or friends.
