I want to become a Driving Instructor !!
At Preston Driving School we have been conducting driving instructor training courses to local people since 1985 and we have trained hundreds of new instructors many of which are now running their own schools all over Preston, Blackpool, Chorley and Lancashire. Your training to become a driving instructor in Preston is now arranged and conducted by driving instructor trainers from our sister company Expressway Driving Instructor Training Centre, this centre and its trainers have all been inspected and approved by the Driving Standards Agency and ORDIT (The Official Register Of Driving Instructor Trainers) to deliver driving instructor training to the general public. The ORDIT inspections are carried out by the Supervising Examiners (ADI) from the DSA. These are the same examiners that eventually test you on your practical instructor training examinations. The ADI training team at Expressway are all very experienced Grade 6 driving instructor trainers and all training is conducted on a 'Pay As You Go' basis. After qualifying as a new driving instructor you have a choice of either working for yourself as an ADI or as an Associated Instructor, or you may wis to join us and operate under our name of Preston Driving School or even join our sister company Expressway Driver Training Ltd. These options will be explained to you in more details on your initial interview along with details of our Associated Instructor Scheme.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL !!!
At Preston Driving School and Expressway Driver Training Ltd we train new instructors on a recruitment basis either to work directly under our names or as an associated instructor. However there is definitely a difference between a driving school that trains people as recruitment for new instructors against a school that just sells driving instructor training courses to anybody and everybody. You have probably seen many adverts in newspapers, magazines and television about ADI training, however you need to be very careful about your choice of training provider because unfortunately within this industry there is a new breed of driving schools that are continually advertising to train people to become driving instructors and then work for them, often stating in their adverts that they are one of the fastest growing driving schools in the country and offering all sorts of promises and claims. Think carefully before handing over your money because the truth is that contrary to what you may hear or read there is definitely not a shortage of instructors in the country. Read between the lines and ask searching questions, also look for evidence such as genuine testimonials from instructors who they have trained but are now running their own driving schools in Preston, Blackpool, Chorley and Lancashire.
